Before he met me, The Artist had survived a couple of destructive relationships. The last one being …well… the last one, in which would settle for anything that made him unhappy. Having determined exactly what he was no longer prepared to accept, he’d reached ‘the end of the line’.
And that’s the title he gave to this painting, which he was working on when we started out:
VOS #8 THE END OF THE LINE
Fascinated by all things mechanical, Martin had noticed that steam train pictures were generally of shiny, working engines. So he decided to design one that was no longer serviceable and had been shunted into a siding, ready to be dismantled.
The inspiration for this watercolour painting was poignant, signifying the end of an era.
And the start of a new one.
More than seventeen years have gone by, since we embarked on our journey together – and we’re still chugging along, on the right track!
Find The Logo
The Artist has super-imposed his logo, somewhere in the above image – can you spot it?
