Nurturing Thursday 23

The above picture was posted on her Facebook page, ‘Simple Truthful Life with Lizzie’, by my friend Lizzie Bennett RN.

The words underneath the smiling baby struck a chord with me ~ recent months have been shadowed by sudden bereavement, deep grief and personal injury. And not enough spontaneous joy.

So, to nurture myself this week, I plan to follow Lizzie’s advice and ‘take a giggle break’ as often as I possibly can. I may not LOL 300 times each day, like the average child is supposed to. (Is there such a thing? Really?)

But I’ll have a fun time, trying!

Nurturing Thursday is hosted by Becca Givens, author of the inspiring blog ‘On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea.’ To read more about it, or to find out how you can join in, press this link.

    1. So am I, Gilly! When I attended my old school reunion a few years ago my classmates seemed to remember me by my infectious giggle. But it seems to have got lost somewhere in the mix ~ hopefully I’ll find it soon as I have been way too serious, for too long! πŸ™‚

  1. I believe we really, REALLY don’t (as a collective) enjoy life enough. I was reflecting on the sauterne, silent, mostly-compliant woman I am and realized that within I was shrieking “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU???” A tad bit of a disconnect.
    So I laughed out loud.
I said to hell with it and left work early yesterday.
I walked barefoot to get the mail.
And I’m giving away free reflexology today to hell with the money.
    Life is truly good.

  2. what a wonderful post..and a giggle break…
I do that often…my grandchildren are an endless source for me
    Thank you Jacqueline…!
    Take Care…You Matter….

  3. I smile just thinking about the deep belly laughs of my baby daughter. I called her the Laughing Baby. We should all try and have a “300 Day,” every once in a while.
