My Wonky Life

Although i have managed to get rid of lots of things, I am not very good at keeping ongoing order in my tiny home. To prove this, here is photo of my living room as i left it last night.

Following the ‘One minute rule’ it now looks like this –

The ‘One Minute Rule’ is this ~ if you can do a ‘thing’ in a minute or less, you shouldn’t wait to organise it, you should just DO IT!

So here is Gretchen Ruben on the ‘One Minute Rule’ as she explains it so much better than i do.

  1. Oh this is so true — and I am not always sure I don’t follow through with it! 😀 But I am in the process of combining items from my childhood home, with our present one. As overwhelming as it is at the moment — my goal is to downsize (or rightsize) by the end of the year and be freed of clutter! I want to find an “art spot” in the process!

    1. It is a mammoth task to go through your loved ones’ belongings and move on yourself, Becca ~ we did that twelve years ago and I still have boxes of my Mum and Dad’s possessions in the attic. I just carted the things I couldn’t make a decision on with me when we relocated to the Island. But gradually we are getting through it all and I’m finding the courage to ‘let go’ of more and more. Good luck with your sifting process ~ just do as much as you can each day and you will get there! 🙂

      1. Jacqueline, thank you! I still have more to sift through at my mom’s. I will meet my sister for round 2 next week for a couple of weeks … I am fortunate to have a husband who understands the status of our house during this process!
